William A. Peckham was most likely a baseball fan. Cigarettes and/or tobacco sales were often used as an avenue for selling baseball trading cards. These scrapbooks contain cards from the 1909 Ramly Cigarette (T204) and the 1909-11 White Border (T206) cards. At this time, the back of the card included an advertisement for the cigarette company.
